Thursday Club Business Meetings and Projects The meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month starting at 6:00pm, followed by a carving project. Note: Safety gloves and thumb guards are required to participate in club workshops. If you are a beginner, please contact the instructor or one of the board members to determine the level of the carving project. Upcoming  Workshops and Events

NOTE:  Club business meetings are on the first Thursday of each month, starting at 6:00pm, with a mini carving project to follow.  Workshops will be scheduled through Woodcraft as they become available. We need volunteers to lead carving projects each month.  Please let us know if you have a project you would like to share with the group. Sure could use your help in leading a woodcarving project! We can provide assistance if you need it. Please contact one of the board members and email our club at info@jrcarvers.com with your project ideas.

Meeting and Woodcarving Project Time: 6:00 pm Carving Project: Chip Carving Instructor: Wayne Thornton Join us for an evening of chip carving fun! These will be carved on a 3"x3"x1/4" piece of basswood. Patterns come from a print block. The blocks have a very nice design. It's best to have a chip carving knife for this project. If you don't have one come anyway and see what you can do with your regular carving knife. Cost of blank is only $1.

JRWC Woodcarving Competition 2017 (See details and forms) Important Dates to Remember Bring in your entries at Woodcraft on Thursday, April 20 (3 to 7 pm) & Friday, April 21 (1 – 4 pm) Judging is held on April 21, at 5:00pm Woodcarving Competition and Show open to public on April 22.  Come see the results.  Free admission. Take home you entries on April 23.

Club picnic & Officer election The picnic will be held at Tom & Daphne Lasser's home: 14008 Blunts Bridge Road, Ashland, VA 23005 Meet and Greet: 11:30 AM Picnic Lunch: 12:00 PM Tom will prepare grilled chicken, hamburgers, and hot dogs.  In addition to the meats, the club will be providing beverages and paper products.  Please bring a side dish or dessert to go along with the main meal.  Officer Elections Our annual JRWC officer elections will be held after the meal.  Would you be interested in being a JRWC board member?  We are looking for dedicated members to become a part of our board to keep our club running smoothly.  We have an opening just for you!  Let one of the board members know if you are interested.  White Elephant Auction The purpose of the white elephant auction is to raise money for the club that helps offset expenses like picnics, holiday parties, and carving projects.  There are two ways that you can help make the auction a success!  1. Donate an item to be auctioned off.  The item does not have to be carving related.  2. Bid on the items that are being auctioned.
